$4 million jury verdict
Wilkes-Barre man awarded $4 million for injuries caused by a crash with an overweight tractor-trailer on Route 115.
$1.2 million verdict
The jury awarded $1.2 million for a patient who was misdiagnosed with cancer.
$1.1 million jury verdict
After sustaining head injury from an automobile accident with a driver who (it was later found) was driving while under the influence of heroin, the client sued the intoxicated driver and was awarded $1.1 million to help pay for the victim’s necessary long-term medical treatment and knee replacement.
$750,000 settlement
A 7-week-old infant was admitted to a hospital for a high fever. A hospital nurse was having difficulty trying to insert an IV needle into the baby’s arm to take a blood culture. The nurse decided to wrap the baby’s arm with a warm pack using a cloth diaper. The nurse left the warm pack on the baby’s arm for several minutes. When the pack was removed, it had inflicted 3rd-degree burns on the inside of the baby’s arm. Luckily, no skin grafting was necessary. But the baby suffered permanent scarring to the insider of her arm, which could be subject to later scar revision surgery. The baby incurred a medical expense of nearly $5,000. The settlement of $750,000 includes an annuity that is worth $450,000.
$750,000 settlement
Insurance Company offers $750,000 to resolve a claim, pays over the amount to resolve claim after litigation. Fellerman & Ciarimboli obtained a favorable judgment ruling in which the court ruled that CGL insurer had a duty to defend KLA for patent infringement lawsuit, despite the existence of intellectual property exclusion.
$675,000 settlement (motor vehicle accident portion)/$100,000 settlement (workers compensation portion)
Fellerman & Ciarimboli were able to secure a total of $775,000 for a client involved in both a motor vehicle accident and worker’s compensation case obtained a $675,000 settlement for the MVA portion and a $100,000 settlement for the WC portion.
$185,000 settlement
Fellerman & Ciarimboli were able to secure a $185,000 settlement for our client in this worker’s compensation case. While hooking up the hoses of a tractor cab to the back of a trailer, our client was pinned down when the cab driver started to reverse the cab – this resulted in a painful chest injury.
$160,000 settlement
Fellerman & Ciarimboli obtained a $160,000 settlement in a social security benefits case in which our client was suffering severe, debilitating pain after injuring his left shoulder. The discomfort was so severe the individual had difficulty in satisfying basic day-to-day tasks such as getting dressed.
Insurance Company pays 15 times the policy limit to resolve claim
Our client was the driver of a vehicle when they were involved in a road traffic accident. He suffered a minor whiplash injury fully recovered within eight months.
