The Scranton Preparatory School Mock Trial Team’s recent win at the District and Regional Championship is a proud moment for the school and the entire community. This accomplishment showcases the exceptional talent, skill, and dedication of the team members, coaches, and supporters. The Pennsylvania Bar Association Young Lawyer Division’s High School Mock Trial Competition is one of the largest in the nation and offers an excellent opportunity for high school students to experience the legal system first-hand. This year, 245 teams competed across the state of Pennsylvania, and Scranton Prep emerged victorious. The team's win is all the more impressive considering the young age of the team members and their relative lack of experience in the competition.

The victory is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the students, coaches, and advisors who spent countless hours preparing and practicing for the competition. The Scranton Prep team's success demonstrates the benefits of persistence and perseverance, especially in the face of challenges and setbacks. The coaches and advisors played a vital role in the team's success, providing guidance and support throughout the process. Attorney and Coach Patricia Rieder and Teacher Advisor and Coach Mary Grace Phillips are rightly proud of their students and the effort they put in to achieve their goals.

Team Picture

The Scranton Prep team's journey is not yet over, as they will now represent their Region at the State Competition in Harrisburg. The State Competition will feature winners from other regions, providing a significant challenge for the Scranton Prep team. However, with their talent, skill, and hard work, they have demonstrated that they are capable of achieving great things.

The Scranton Prep team's success is not only a source of pride for the school and its community but also a reflection of the high standards and values upheld by the legal profession. By participating in this competition, the students are learning valuable skills and knowledge that will serve them well in their future careers.

Overall, the Scranton Preparatory School Mock Trial Team's recent win is a remarkable achievement that deserves recognition and celebration. The team members, coaches, and advisors should be commended for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence, and we wish them the best of luck in the upcoming State Competition.
