Fellerman & Ciarimboli Law Firm is investigating whether former Geisinger Health System doctor Abraham Joseph Layon has engaged in any inappropriate conduct with female patients, students, hospital staff and/or administration.

Case Background
In December 2017, Layon was accused of engaging in “manipulative, coercive, and predatory behavior” with a minor while working as the system director of critical care medicine at Geisinger Health System in Danville, PA.
According to the complaint, Layon had met the minor when he was overseeing an educational group of high school students. Layon allegedly had sent “personal and sexually suggestive messages” to a minor girl and had asked the girl to read passages from “racist, provocative, sexually charged” books.
In August 2017, the complaint alleges Layon had forced himself on the 16-year-old at the hospital, kissing her ear, face, and mouth without her consent. In addition, Layon allegedly gnawed her ears, forced his tongue into her mouth and caressed her cheek.
As a result, the complaint states Layon was fired from the hospital.
Layon completed his residency in internal medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He then completed a residency in anesthesiology at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He worked for the UF Health Shands Hospital for over 25 years in various departments at the hospital.
